Eileen Faye Engebretson, age 89, of Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at her home in Brainerd.

Eileen was born on May 27, 1936, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Lee and Ann (Carter) Austin. She spent her life rooted in the community she loved and later married Robert “Bob” Engebretson, with whom she shared many years of marriage, love, and family.

Eileen will be remembered for her deep love of country and bluegrass music, her enjoyment of puzzle books, and—most of all—her devotion to her family. Time spent together, whether quiet moments or lively gatherings, meant everything to her.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Engebretson; her children, Daniel (April) Williams, Debra Lick, and Dallas (Shari) Williams; her step-sons, Dale (Lynn) Engebretson and Kevin (Vicky) Engebretson; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin sister, Arlene Curo; her sister, Brenda Sibbert; and her brother, Lawrence Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Ann Austin; her brothers, Wilbert Austin, Gerald Austin, and Howard Austin; her granddaughter, Cassandra Williams; and her grandsons Landon Johnston and Kevin Engebretson Jr.

A Celebration of Life for Eileen will be held on April 25, 2026 from 12pm-3pm at the Crow Wing Town Hall.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter, Minnesota.
