Douglas Jerome Wannebo, beloved husband, father, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He lived a life defined by strength, dedication, and quiet generosity.
Douglas served his country in the United States military during the Vietnam War, an experience that shaped his resilience and deep sense of duty. He carried that same commitment into every aspect of his life, always putting his family first and leading by example.
Douglas was the proud owner and operator of Wannebo Excavating, where he built a reputation for hard work, reliability, and integrity. He took great pride in his work and the business he created, earning the respect of both his clients and community.
He will be remembered as a devoted father who valued a strong work ethic, honesty, and loyalty. Known for his great sense of humor, Douglas loved joking around and bringing smiles to those around him.
Douglas had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the freedom of the open road. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, and spending time fishing and deer hunting—simple pleasures that brought him happiness and reflected his independent spirit.
He made his home in Manhattan Beach, where he created a life filled with memories alongside those he loved. Douglas found joy in time spent with family, sharing stories, and appreciating life’s everyday moments. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled, and the memories cherished by those who loved him.
