The world lost a very caring, compassionate person on June 20, 2023, when he lost his courageous 7 year battle with brain cancer. Douglas Wade Richau, 49, was born Feb 17, 1974, in Fargo ND. A Celebration of his life will be Friday, July 7th at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter. Visitation will be at 1:00, services at 2:00.
Doug attended West Fargo public schools, graduating in 1992. He was very good at business - at a very young age starting with taking candy out of his sister’s Easter basket, eating hers while hiding his in his sock drawer along with his stash of change. He was never afraid to work, having 2 jobs through high school. After graduating he worked in sales for Dakota Bumper in Fargo, ND. It’s been said that he could sell ice cubes to Eskimos. He became aware of the opportunity to serve the St Cloud area and purchased the business, eventually renaming it Auto Color & Industrial Supply. He earned AkzoNoble Oustanding Achievement awards in 2006 & 2007 as well as Fleet Champion in 2016. His biggest goal was working as hard as he needed to in order to build a successful business for his beloved family. After hard work and great success, he was very generous, always asking ‘what can I do to help’, never letting anyone down. Doug lived a lot of life in a short amount of years, enjoying life to the fullest with each and every opportunity. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family at his lake home, especially his girls who were his pride and joy.
Doug is survived by parents, Dale & Linda Richau, Baxter MN, his 2 beautiful daughters Aliyah & Reagan, Nisswa MN, his sister Tracy (Aaron) Meisch, Henderson NV, his niece Sarah, 2 nephews Kyle and Adam and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is proceeded in death by an infant son Devin, both sets of grandparents as well as an aunt.
Doug’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure and he will be dearly missed. Today and always may the loving memories of a life well lived bring us peace, comfort, and strength.
