Dorothy May Huebner, 84, of Staples, MN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 26, 2026. She and her twin brother were born on February 22,1942 in Cullman, AL to Curtis and Polly Yeager.
Upon graduating from Cullman High in 1960 she took business courses and worked at Southern Bell Telephone in Birmingham, AL and then later at Northwestern Bell Telephone in Minneapolis, MN. She raised her children and spent 20 years working at First Integrity Bank of Staples, MN.
She married Curtis Hirschey in April,1965 and to this union three wonderful children were born: Julie, Barry, and Kyle. She later married Larry Huebner in August,1992 and they cherished nearly 34 years of marriage together — traveling, being grandparents, serving others and one another, and spending winters at their home in Cullman, AL after retirement.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma. She was a member of the Staples Alliance Church where she served in countless ways, including as a Sunday School teacher, a deaconess, and an AWANA leader. She loved music and praising the Lord in song. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren which included being known as “the grandma with 3 sets of twin girls”. She loved to bake and no one could beat her pecan pie.
The most important thing about Dorothy was her living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She lived a life of steadfast trust and hope in all seasons, praying always that others would come to know Him and live for Him. Her faith is now sight as she is home, healed, and forever alive with the living God.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry A. Huebner; 1 daughter, Julie (Don) Becker of Lincoln NE; 2 sons, Barry (Sharon) Hirschey of Staples, MN; Kyle Hirschey of Breckenridge, MN; 2 step children, Darren Huebner of Madison, WI and Cheryl (Wade) Marte of Staples, MN; 11 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
