Dorothy Franzen

Dorothy ( Dots) May Franzen, 75 of Brainerd Minnesota passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter Jody on September 22, 2021 at Good Samaritan Bethany nursing home after a long battle with Parkinsons. Services will take place at 12pm on Friday, October 1st at the Nazarene church in Brainerd Minnesota with visitation starting 1 hour prior to services.
Dorothy was born to Charles and Elsie ( Wuzinger) Oliver on November 6th 1945 in Bismarck North Dakota. She married the love of her life Ken Franzen on August 24th 2001 in Brainerd Minnesota. Dorothy and Ken volunteered to many of the nursing homes in the area bringing music to many residents and staff. Dorothy loved music, dancing, singing, cooking and entertaining family and friends. Church and faith were a big part of Dorothy's life and the Nazarene family was very important to her, especially Pastor Ruth who was beside her in her final hours praying over her and preparing her for her home in heaven.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Cowden of Brainerd Minnesota, James(Bobbie) Cowden of Nevis Minnesota, Jody(Jarrad) Fluekiger of Alma Wisconsin, Julie (Troy) Satchell of Emily Minnesota and Jeanie Torgerson of St. Cloud Minnesota. Siblings- Sister, Lorraine Splettstoezer of Brainerd, Carol Wood of Brainerd, Jane(Greg) Johnson of Apple Valley MN and Ruth (Keith) Hausman of Windsor Heights Iowa. Grandchildren, Kayla, Melissa, Kimberly, Ondraya, Paige, Brandon, Jesse, Camryn, Dylan, Riley, Abby and Tobias. Great Grandchildren,-Gabe, Colton, Vince, Bella and Arabella. She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Elsie Oliver. Her husband; Kenneth Franzen,and her siblings; Betty Langman, Mary Chalker and John Oliver.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter Minnesota.
