Doris Irene Knott (King, Probasco, McCoy), born on January 22, 1939, at Holman Hospital in Pine River, MN, passed away on September 20, 2025, in Pine River.
Doris graduated from Pine River High School in 1957 and went on to marry Clifton E. King in 1959. She fell in love and married two more times, in 1984 to Walter Probasco and in 1988 to John McCoy.
Doris worked at the Cottage Café in Pine River, later working at the Good Sam in Pine River for 23 years, and lastly Kinzie Candle for 2 years before retiring. Doris volunteered with Faith in Action and the Bone Builders, was a Red Hat Lady, was on the board at the Pine River Family Center, and was a member of the Backus Church of the Nazarene, where she welcomed Jesus into her life on May 8, 1979.
Doris had a heart of gold and touched the lives of many people with her listening ears and loving heart. She loved children, bringing them to church and summer bible school. She was steadfast in her faith, being a shining example of what a Christian should be. She loved everyone in her church family. She enjoyed hobbies, such as gardening, crafts, playing cards with friends, and was an avid rockhound. She enjoyed family get-togethers and looked forward to family reunions and camp. She will be sorely missed by many.
Doris is survived by her children, Teresa Belle King (Kenneth Messig) and Clorinda Anna Deshayes (Todd Deshayes); step-daughters, Tammy Alexander and Julie Probasco Rono; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Siltman (Jack), Carolyn Moen, Annette Goldenstein, Robert Goldenstein, Samantha Girard (Josh), Danille Deshayes (Gabe), Francesca Fitzgerald (Connor), Sarah Alexander Henderson (Andrew), Megan Reynolds (Eric), and Rachel Alexander; 17 great-grandchildren, Devin Goldenstein (Sierra), Aurora Melby, Heath Siltman, Cylar Hirst, Wynter Siltman, James Moen, Jonathan Moen, Lexi Moen, Isabella Moen, Jayden Marsh, Charli Girard, Madison Girard, Zoey Henderson, Alexander Henderson, Rylee Rose Henderson, Lily Reynolds, and Nathan Reynolds; and one great-great-granddaughter, Kailee Goldenstein; siblings, David Knott of Florida, Sam Knott from Michigan, Joe Knott from Michigan, Bernice Wynn of Crosby, MN, and Hope Parsons, also from Crosby; and many nieces and nephews.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Llewellyn and Helen (Collette) Knott; husbands, Clifton King, Walter Probasco, and John McCoy; siblings, Bill Knott, Marie Arnold, John Knott, Robert Knott, and Kenneth Knott; and grandson, Eli Deshayes.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Backus Church of the Nazarene, with visitation the hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Pine River.
