Donna Sweet

Donna Jean [Morgan] Sweet, 78, resident of Brainerd MN, passed away on September 18, 2023.  Donna was born in Brainerd, MN on October 13, 1944 to Neil and Mabel [Engstrom] Morgan.  She was one of eight siblings, grew up on the family farm in St Mathias Township, and graduated from Washington [Brainerd] High School in 1962.   She graduated from Brainerd Community and Vocational College in 1982 with a degree in Automotive Mechanics. 

Donna worked as a Childcare Provider in the Brainerd community for over 30 years. Her house was filled with games, toys, baby bottles, giggles and hugs. Outside, Donna enjoyed her flowers, vegetable gardening and raising rabbits. Donna’s house was the family destination for many holidays, setting out delicious foods and bringing the relatives together.

Donna had a beautiful and vibrant soul that made family and friends feel so special. She kept the family traditions alive during Christmas and at birthdays. We remember her smile, her cooking, her gentle nature, and her deep love for all of her daycare families. Her love for all was sincere as was her faith in god and family at Christ Lutheran Church & Little Lambs Preschool.  Special thanks to the caretakers at Edgewood Senior living, Breath of Life, and the Hospice team.

Donna was preceded in death by her brother, David, and her parents, Neil and Mabel Morgan.  She is survived by her daughter, Mychelle Nunez, and grandchildren, Alana, Sofia, and Jose Cruz.  Also by    six siblings: Dennis and Barb [Sherrard] Morgan, Robert Morgan and Janet Kurtz, Terry and Rita [Whitehead] Morgan, John Morgan, Pam Morgan, Colleen [Morgan] Hess, and many nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 7^th, 10am viewing – 11am service at the Christ Lutheran Church in Baxter, Minnesota.   A luncheon will follow at 12pm.
