Donna Gayle Larson, 71, of Crosslake, Minnesota, passed away on February 1, 2026, after a courageous 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Donna was born on December 23, 1954, in Minneapolis to Phyllis and Donald Crosby. She built a successful career spanning the automotive, real estate, and telecommunications industries, where her professionalism and warm personality touched many lives.
Donna met the love of her life, Kevin, while working in the telecommunications industry 45 years ago. They married on September 18, 1982, and shared 43 wonderful years of marriage filled with adventure, devotion, and unwavering partnership. Above all, Donna was a devoted mother who treasured her family. She loved the simple joys of life—walking hand-in-hand with her husband, capturing memories through photography, escaping Minnesota winters for sunny beaches, boating on the lake, golfing with friends, pheasant hunting, snowmobiling and gathering for happy hour with those she loved. Her warmth, charisma, and quick wit lit up every room. Many will fondly remember her spot-on impersonation of Donald Duck—a talent so beloved that those at the nursing home aptly named her "Donna Duck."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Donald Crosby; her brothers, Jim and Bob Crosby; her in-laws, Jack and Lois Larson; and two precious grandsons, Jameson and Sawyer Larson. Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Kevin; daughter Kimberly (Steve) Rollins; son Nathan (Cassie) Larson; cherished grandchildren Elise, Nolan, Claire, and Eleanor Larson, and Liliana Rollins; sister Ruth (Rick) Kratochvil and their three children; three brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, and their families; and many dear friends who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Gathering Center in Crosslake on Friday, May 15th from 2-5pm, where appetizers and cocktails will be provided. A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm, officiated by Pastor Hans Anderson of First Lutheran Church of Pine River. In lieu of gifts, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
