Donald "Don" Wippler

June 28, 1934 — July 3, 2020

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall for Donald “Don” Eugene Wippler, age 86, of Cushing who died Friday, July 3, 2020.  Rev. Jimmy Joseph will officiate and burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at 3PM on Friday, July 17, 2020.  Visitation will be from 9 – 11:30AM on Saturday at the church in Randall.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Randall

Don was born June 28, 1934 in Browerville; the son of Edward and Veronica (Wippler) Witt.  He proudly served our country in the United States Army.  Don married Jeanette Lashinski on September 10, 1956 in Sobieski. He was employed at FMC in Minneapolis as a lead maintenance official for 38 years until his retirement. Don walked strongly in his faith as a member of St. James Catholic Church.  He was a past commander of the Coon Rapids VFW and past member of the Coon Rapids American Legion.  Don always enjoyed doing things for others and expected nothing in return.  He loved chopping wood, horseshoes, bowling, playing cards, card club, vegetable gardening, hunting and fishing.  Don taught his family to laugh, don’t sweat the small stuff, always be on time, and forgiveness is the key to a happy life.  He had a strong work ethic, great sense of humor, and always a social butterfly; above all else he loved his family beyond words and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.  Don will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jeanette of Cushing; children, Cheryl (Perry) Gienger of Brainerd, Gary (Rhonda) Wippler of Pine River, Kelly Wippler of St. Paul; grandchildren, Brent, Nicole (Josh), Travis (Megan), Luke; great grandchildren, Torry, Rylie, Hope, Wesley, Beyla; siblings, Janyce Bartkowitz of Pine River, Genevieve (Gene) Baron of Brainerd, Joan (Andy) Hudalla of Long Prairie, James (Mary Jo) Witt of Andover, William (Nancy) Witt of Randall, and Debra (Joe) Derosier of Fort Ripley.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Shirley Schrupp.
