Donald Walter Middelstadt, born October 11, 1930, in Minneapolis, MN, passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 95.
Don lettered as a wrestler while he was in high school and went on to become a veteran sergeant for 8 years in the Marines, fighting in the Korean War. He worked for Chanel 11 as a technical director for 39 years, working on the Channel 11 News and was a part of the Jerry Lewis telethon and Mel Jazz show. He was also a member of the Crystal Police reserve.
Don enjoyed lake living, fishing, doing small repairs, watching Star Trek and old westerns, and working the State Fair, which he did for many years. Don was also a dedicated active member of his church serving in many layperson positions. He was married to his beloved wife, Julle, for 49 years.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Frieda (Schmidt) Middelstadt; wife, Julle; sons, Ricky, Wayne, and Wesley; and stepdaughter, Terri.
Don is survived by his stepchildren, Sue (Joel), Robin, Mary (Costa), Terri, and Linda; grandchildren, Ryan (Mary), Paige, Tyler (Jihee), Carter (Meghan), Angelica, Christopher and James; great-grandchildren, Hannalynn and Serenity.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake, MN. A visitation will be held the hour prior to the service.
