Dennis Nels Hyatt “Papa”, age 53, of Onamia, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2026, in Baxter, Minnesota. Dennis was born on August 4, 1972, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Don and Patricia (Pat) Hyatt.
Dennis was a hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. Throughout his career, he worked in hospitality, management, and construction, developing a reputation for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and willingness to help others. In 2019, he fulfilled his dream of working for himself by founding Hyatt Siding LLC, where he specialized in siding, remodeling, and home improvement projects. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built with his customers.
Family meant everything to Dennis. He is survived by his children, Ashley (Eddie) Searle, Justine (Cody) Meyer, James (Chelsie Elise) Milloch, Alivia Hyatt, and Peyten Hyatt. While Dennis loved all of his children, Alivia and Peyten were the center of his world. He loved his girls with everything he had and was incredibly proud of the young women they had become. His love for them was evident in everything he did, from the sacrifices he made to the countless stories he shared about their accomplishments. There was never a doubt that they were his greatest joy, his greatest pride, and the most important part of his life.
Dennis was also a proud grandfather to Liam Reese, Brinlee Milloch, Camden Milloch, Trey Searle, Carson Searle, and Waylon Meyer. Known to many as “Papa,” Dennis earned the nickname through his caring nature, sense of humor, and the respect he gained from those he worked alongside and called friends.
Dennis had a passion for riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, called Tator, and enjoyed the freedom of the open road. Whether working with his hands, spending time with family, or taking a ride, Dennis lived life on his own terms and always had a story to tell.
Dennis is also survived by his siblings, Dan Hyatt, Denise (Kevin) Sweet, Denine Kasper, and Donna Hyatt (Brian Hahn), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don Hyatt (January 18, 1939 – December 6, 2020) and Patricia Hyatt (March 4, 1940 – April 26, 2015).
Dennis will be remembered for his sense of humor, his generous heart, his hardworking nature, and the deep love he had for his family. He was the kind of person who would lend a hand without being asked, share a laugh when it was needed most, and leave a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.
“Papa” will be missed beyond words, loved beyond measure, and remembered forever. ❤️
