Dellis Alan Gangestad

Dellis Gangestad, of Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 86.

Dellis was born on April 10, 1940, in Fort Ripley, Minnesota, to Elmer and Odelia (Lowenberg) Gangestad. He graduated from Brainerd High School and spent much of his life in the Brainerd area.

On July 23, 1960, Dellis married the love of his life, JoAnn (Malloy) Gangestad. Together, they built a life centered around family, home, and the many simple pleasures they shared.

Dellis was known for his friendly personality, warm hugs, sense of humor, and love of teasing and joking around. He was a lovable and outgoing person who always seemed to have time for the people around him.

Family meant everything to Dellis. He always made time for his loved ones and was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Some of his favorite memories were made spending time with family on his land at home.

Dellis enjoyed the outdoors and staying busy. He loved hunting, fishing, meat raffles, and gardening, and he took pride in his yard. He also worked in maintenance at Grand Casino.

Dellis will be remembered for his hugs, his jokes, his stories, his love of the outdoors, and, most of all, his devotion to his family. He leaves behind countless memories that will continue to be shared and cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Dellis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, JoAnn (Malloy) Gangestad.

Dellis is survived by his children, Bonnie Eller, Michael (Margie) Gangestad, Barb (Dwight) Soderman, Mark (Tammy) Gangestad, and Betty (Barry) Nelson, Mike Eller; 14 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
