Dean Paskewitz, 90, died May 17, 2021 at Lakewood Health Memory Care Center in Staples, Minnesota. A memorial services will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Staples Church of Christ with Reverend Barry Klein officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the services. Internment will occur immediately after the service at the Browerville, MN cemetery.
Dean Arthur Paskewitz was born to Albert and Fae (Henwood) Paskewitz on June 2, 1930 at Bertha, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm in Browerville, Minnesota. He attended High School in Long Prairie and graduate in 1948. Dean attend Spartan School of Aeronautics at Tulsa, Oklahoma where he obtained his airframe and power plant mechanic’s certificate. He later obtained a bachelor of science degree in technical education from Bemidji State University.
Dean served in the MN National Guard which was federalized during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged.
In 1959 Dean married Marilyn Olson.
Dean operated “Dean’s Aero Maintenance Service” at the Brainerd airport for two years. From there he spent five years as mechanic/inspector at Flying Cloud field in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Finally he spent thirty years instructing aircraft maintenance at the Thief River Falls, MN Technical College.
In 1997 Dean retired from teaching and moved to Staples, MN where he was a member of the Staples Church of Christ and served as a trustee.
Dean enjoyed playing the piano, pinochle, and completing crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed fishing and working in the woods.
Dean is survived his son, Neil, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother Larry, and sister La Vonne Selleck.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Jerry and Robert, and sister Sharon.
Arrangements will be by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel.
