Darren Deplazes

November 17, 1974 — October 15, 2025

Pine River, MN

Darren’s life was a journey well-traveled, marked by steady hands, a faithful heart, and an eye for the beauty in every mile. From the wide horizons of his childhood farm to the winding roads of a truck driver’s life, Darren noticed the simple joys, the laughter of his children, the warmth of a shared story, the quiet power of a prayer, and the love that held family and friends close. Guided by faith, devoted to family, and loyal to all who rode alongside him, Darren’s road was one of love, service, and steadfast grace.

Darren’s earthly journey down life's highway rolled to a peaceful rest on October 15, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family and wrapped in God’s presence. He traveled through life with a steady hand on the wheel and a heart that found beauty in his family, his faith, his work, and the people he cherished. He took the time for meaningful detours - a good story, a helping hand, a quiet prayer, a warm bonfire - that revealed the depth of his generosity and care.

Darren’s story began in Devils Lake, North Dakota, and as a young boy led him to Webster, Minnesota, where his childhood on a hobby farm shaped a steady, humble spirit. Active in 4-H and baseball, Darren carried the pride of a loyal catcher who gave his all for the team. That same dedication carried into every aspect of his life.

His path led him to Jen, the love of his life. They married on October 6, 2001, and together made Pine River their home, a place reflecting Darren’s love for small-town life, wide skies, and close community. Together, they raised two children, Cody and Ava, who were the truest reflection of his heart. Darren delighted in watching them grow, guiding them with quiet wisdom, strong faith, and unwavering pride.

In 2010, Darren began his career as a truck driver, traveling the country mile by mile. He loved the rhythm of the road and the pride it brought in supporting his family. He also understood the larger impact of his work: mile by mile, he delivered goods that nourished, healed, and connected communities. From groceries and everyday essentials to supplies that helped families and businesses thrive, Darren took pride in knowing his efforts supported countless people beyond his own home. In 2014, he transitioned to local routes with TCBX Trucking, finding joy in being closer to home, where his heart belonged most.

Darren lived with devotion to God, family, church, and country, carrying these priorities into every part of his life. Whether serving as a Scout leader, encouraging others through church and marriage ministry, or sharing stories around a bonfire, Darren embodied what it meant to love faithfully and live with integrity. He was loyal to his friends, protective of those around him, and generous with his time and heart.

He found joy in simple pleasures, a good day’s work, a family meal, the laughter of his children, reading the news, a quiet moment under a sunset sky, or a night spent camping. His heart was both soft and strong, making people feel safe, seen, and valued, a steady presence reflecting the goodness of God in everyday life.

Darren is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Jen; children Cody and Ava (Breken); parents Rich and Jeanie Deplazes, in-laws Dennis and Sue Feller; brother Neil (Jessi) Deplazes; sisters-in-law Andria Larson (Chris) and Melissa (Andrea) Feller; eight beloved nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, friends, and a cherished church community.

He was preceded in death by his sister Wendy, grandparents, and beloved aunts and uncles who surely welcomed him home with open arms.

Darren’s life was a journey of love — a road well-traveled, filled with faith, laughter, and devotion to all he held dear. His legacy lives on in the countless hearts he touched and the enduring love he poured into his family.
