Darol Sundahl

April 9, 1944 — December 23, 2006

Darol D. Sundahl, age 62, of Brainerd, passed away Saturday afternoon at the St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Friends may call for one hour prior to services at the Church on Wednesday.
Darol was born on April 9, 1944, in Cheyenne, WY, the son of Martin and Lela (Gilliland) Sundahl. Shortly after his birth his mother passed away, the family then moved to Webster, SD, where he grew up and attended school. On September 20, 1969, he was united in marriage to Linda Glover in Watertown, SD. In 1970 the couple moved to Brainerd and he went to work for the Brainerd school system. He was the Swimming Pool Engineer for 34 years. He was also the custodian at Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 29 years. Among the things he enjoyed were gardening and raising flowers. He was known as a hard working, good provider who loved his family very much. Darol was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran, actively participating in bible study, mens group and other activities. He was also a member of Operating Engineers Union 49D and the Swimming Pool Engineers Union.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Lela; a sister, Arvis Conklin; and an infant son, Dean. Darol is mourned in passing by his wife of 37 years, Linda; daughter, Carrie (John) Nordling and grandson, Miles, of Ames, IA; son, Marty, of Brainerd; sister, Molly Gibbs, of Anderson, CA; sister-in-law, Marcella Duerre of Britton, SD; and mother-in-law, Elvira Glover of Brainerd.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
