Darol Duain Dumler passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the St. Cloud Hospital due to complications from chemo and radiation treatments for lung cancer. He was 78 years old.
Darol was born on July 29, 1946, in Little Falls, Minnesota, to Fredrick and Eleanora (Snyder) Dumler. He worked for Nordic/Crestliner Boats in Little Falls from June 1968 until his retirement in July 1988.
Darol lived a life full of simple pleasures and deep connections. He had a love for Ford trucks, especially his treasured 1950 Ford 8N tractor. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, tinkering with small engines and lawnmowers (especially John Deere), and buying, selling, and treasure hunting for a good deal. He loved picking agates, sharing laughs and stories, “pull-tabs”, and spending time with family and friends—especially around a bonfire with a cigarette in hand, and a cold beer.
He was a storyteller, a traveler, and a jokester who cherished time spent with his nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and his late brother Bobby and cousin Wayne, recounting adventures from the good old days.
Darol is survived by his sisters, Lori Star and Susie Riddle; his daughter, Shelly; his grandchildren, Mindy and her husband Joey, and Bradley and his fiancée Erica; two great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; along with many loving nieces and nephews who brought great joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Eleanora Dumler; his siblings Dallas, Elaine, Melvin, Darlene, Arnold, Earl, Eunice, Bobby, and Gallen; and by his infant son, Baby Boy Dumler.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Randall VFW in Randall, MN, with food being served at 4:00 PM.
Darol wanted his sisters, much-loved nieces and nephews, and all his friends to come together to celebrate his life—with food and drink on him. Come share your favorite memories and help us honor a life well lived.
