in Daniel Thomas “Danny” Trout went to heaven on his birthday, February 15, 2026.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday February 19, 2026 at 10:00am at the Heritage Church in Baxter.
Daniel was born on February 15, 1960, in Staples, Minnesota, to Belma (Ward) and Neil Trout. From an early age, he was known for his warm personality and strong sense of faith that would guide him throughout his life.
Dan was a devoted follower of Jesus whose faith shaped his words, actions, and relationships. He loved his family deeply and lived out his beliefs through kindness, encouragement, and genuine care for others. He was truly a people person — never meeting a stranger and always making others feel welcome and valued.
His greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with them and delighted in being part of their lives. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simple time together, those moments meant everything to him.
Dan enjoyed the outdoors and appreciated the beauty of God’s creation. He found peace outside and happiness in gathering with those he loved most.
He is survived by his beloved spouse of 33 years, Mary; his father, Neil Trout; his children, Joel (Hanna) Trout, Danielle (Jesse) Marohn, Patrick (Amber) Trout, Jonah (Justice) Trout, and Kaitlyn (Paul) Rueger; 14 grandchildren and one on the way; his siblings, Kevin (Laurie) Trout, Gary (Chris) Trout, and Cindy (John) Koopman; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Belma (Ward) Trout, and his sister, Katherine Trout.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 10 am at Heritage Church in Baxter, MN.
Dan’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know him.
