Daniel Owen

Daniel Clifford Owen Sr., 74, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026. Daniel was born on July 4, 1951, in Willmar to Jordan “John” and Clistia Ann (Parker) Owen.

Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard, an experience he greatly enjoyed and often spoke about with pride. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family. Daniel loved family picnics, gatherings outdoors, and sitting together visiting for hours. He was happiest when surrounded by his grandchildren and the daycare children he cared for so deeply.

Daniel also found peace and happiness in gardening and tending to his plants. Whether working in the garden or sharing time with loved ones, he was known for his generous spirit. Daniel was a man who never asked for much for himself, but freely gave whatever he could to others. His kindness, warmth, and selflessness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jordan “John” Owen; his mother, Clistia Ann Owen; his sister, Patricia Briscoe; and his niece, Christina Owen.

Daniel is lovingly survived by his wife, Linda Lee Owen (VanNorman); his children, Dawn (Millard) Houser, Dennis Brusewitz, David (Tayna) Brusewitz, Diane Brusewitz, Donald Brusewitz, and Daniel (Shelly) Owen; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters; extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Services will be held 11am on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Motley Free Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
