Dale Tracy

Dale Hans Tracy, 90, of Pequot Lakes passed away on February 27th, 2026.

Dale was born on January 14th, 1936 to John and Ella Tracy in Minneapolis, MN. Dale met his wife, Ellyn at church and became partners in life.

Dale was a kind, funny, and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Dale was always willing to help anyone who needed it and constantly showed up for people in very practical ways. Throughout his life he had many jobs and was an extremely resourceful person. He passed these traits on to his three sons and this legacy lives on in his surviving family members.

Dale loved spending time at the lake, and when him and Ellyn retired they built their dream home near Lake Ossawinnamakee. Dale and Ellyn built community everywhere they went. They loved to travel and would take their RV to Florida in the winter. Dale would lead with humor in relationships and was always cracking jokes.

Dale is survived by his children Dale William (Jeanne) Tracy, Scott (Deann Gowin) Tracy, Jeffery (Sheri Cheney) Tracy; grandchildren Amber (Shane) Ortlepp, Amy (Matt) Johnson, Kenneth (Jonnay) Tracy, Kaisha Tracy, Jennie Tracy; 6 great grandchildren, and special niece Toni Aicher.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Ellyn, parents, siblings Lillian, John, Wayne, Bert, and Barbie, and two daughter in laws Kathryn (Scott) Tracy, and Carla (Jeff) Tracy.

Funeral services will take place at 11 am on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at Sheperd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 500 Blake Road South, Edina, MN and visitation will begin one hour prior to services. The Internment will take place at Grandview Park Cemetery, 6901 Maloney Ave, Hopkins, MN.

A gathering of family and friends will take place starting at 4pm on Monday, April 13th, 2026 at Maucieri’s Italian Bistro, 34650 Co Rd 3, Crosslake, MN.
