Dale Sandoz

Dale Sandoz, age 74, of Backus, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009. He was born June 15, 1934, in Anoka, MN, to Clarence and Dayle Sandoz. Dale was a veteran of the Korean War, serving 3 years active duty and 8 years in the Army Reserves. He was an active member of the Backus Legion. He loved trout fishing in Montana.
Dale is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children: Harry Sandoz of Onamia, Marna Madsen of Backus, Sandra Heuckroth of Menlo Park, CA, Jan McCaugherty of Seattle, WA; brother, Clarence Sandoz of Harlingen, TX; sister, Kitty Grant (Nola) of Cold Spring; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Warren and Wayne; sister, Ramona; and children, Kevin Lee and Vickie Sandoz.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
Services will be 1 PM on Friday, April 24 at Lakeside Baptist Church, Backus, with Pastor Jeff Broom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
