Christian Kruckow

Christian David Kruckow, age 63, of Backus, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011. He was born to Fred and Lena Kruckow in Ponto Lake Township on March 2, 1948. He graduated from Backus High School in 1966 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he received a purple heart. He married Sheila Shriver on May 19, 1982. Christian loved his grandchildren and enjoyed working on motors and all things mechanical.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sheila; children: Erin Kruckow of Rochester, Michelle Kruckow of Pine River; sisters, Norma Hanson, Laura Norried, Janette Ferrarese; brothers, Roland Kruckow, Norbert Kruckow; and grandchildren, Dustin Mick and Heidi Kline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Loretta.

Services will be 2 PM on Saturday, July 2, at the Church of the Nazarene, Backus, with Pastor John Rister officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Ponto Lake Cemetery.
