Cheryl Beard

October 13, 1956 — April 11, 2020

Cheryl Lynn Beard, age 63, passed away suddenly on April 11 after a brief illness.

Cheryl was born in Brainerd, the oldest of three daughters. She and her family made several places their home before returning to Brainerd following the death of her father–   Atlanta, Georgia; Cherrypoint, NC; Liverpool, NY.

Cheryl graduated from Brainerd High School in 1976. She attended Brainerd Community College, received an AA degree and later trained as a licensed practical nurse. This nursing education gave her the opportunity to care for patients, hear their stories and develop relationships.

Cheryl had a life long love of animals. Dogs and horses were part of her experience growing up. Later her passion for dogs (and cats) brought several 4-legged “children” into her home. She was especially fond of Dalmatians.

Cheryl was very nurturing to her many friends, going out of her way to help others. She placed others’ needs ahead of her own and tended to keep her personal struggles private.

Cheryl has a place in the hearts of her friends, her beloved Dalmatians (Portia and Puka) and will be deeply missed by sister Sandra Truong (Nha), nephew Andrew Truong, niece Michele Truong as well as several Aunts and Cousins.

Cheryl recently enjoyed a Hawaiian cruise with her sister Sandra, a wonderful memory to cherish during a time of grief.

Cheryl is preceded in death by parents Donald and Marlys Beard and sister Lynda Beard.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made in Cheryl’s name to the Hart Foundation.
