Charles Back

Charles (Charlie) Back, age 80, of Crosslake, MN passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society - Bethany, in Brainerd, MN.

Charles was born on July 9, 1938 to Charles and Helen (Rightman) Back in Minneapolis, MN. On June 6, 1960 he married his bride of 59 years, Myrna (Darlene) Hubbell. He served in the US Army for 27 years, retiring in 1985 as a Command Sergeant Major. While serving his country, Charles was a Communication Instructor at Ft. Gordon in Augusta, GA., received two Presidential Service Awards for "Honorable Service in the White House," and completed two tours in Vietnam. Charles was also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Loved ones who will miss Charles until they meet again in heaven are his wife, Darlene Back, his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Dianna Back, his daughter, Kimberly Wickham, and grandchildren, Heather Wickham, Mackenzie Lonergan, and Eric Back. He is also survived by his sister, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life is being held on July 13, 2019 at 10:30 AM, at The Log Church in Crosslake, MN, with Pastor Mark Holmen officiating. Floral tributes may be sent directly to the church. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
