Carl Trager

Carl Trager, 85, of Staples, MN passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monay November 10, 2025, at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN. There will be a visitation held at 10:00am at the church. Private family burial will be held at Motley City Cemetery.

Carl was born in Hazen, North Dakota on October 24, 1940. He moved to Minnesota in 1952. He graduated from Motley High School in 1958 and soon after married Janice Daniels on November 19, 1960, in Litchfield, MN. Carl had three beautiful girls, Donna, Julie and Susan.

He worked in printing ink and chemical business in the twin cities for 40 years. Carl was a member of England Prairie Pioneer Club, Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a member of St. Bridget’s Church in Minneapolis for 35 years.

He enjoyed fishing, baseball, and camping. He enjoyed traveling and was able to see much of the United States.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, brother, sisters-in-law, and daughter, Donna.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 65 years, Janice, daughters Julie and Susan, three sons-in-law, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Carl’s wife would like to extend a special Thank You to Nursing Staff at Lakewood Health Systems, Mille Lacs Health Systems, and Harmony House in Motley. In lieu of flowers, Carl’s family requests donations in his memory to the Sacred Heart Catholic School.
