Betty Zaffke

Betty Kathryn Zaffke, 86, of Backus, Minnesota, passed away on October 14, 2016.

Betty was born March 2, 1930, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Per Adolph and Kristina Ingaborg Nystrom. She married Kermit Zaffke and together they owned and operated Backus Hardware for twenty-five years. She worked at Cass County Treasurer Office for twenty years after his death. She was a joyful, faithful servant and friend to all.

Betty is survived by her children: John (Karen), Karna (Vic) Rinke, Kendall (Deb), Karla (Jim) Baker, Kelvin (Lynn), Kent (Cindy); ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Iver and Victor, and her sister Esther Hopen.

Betty's service will be at Lakeside Baptist Church in Backus on Sunday, October 16 at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
