Betty L. Nordlund

Betty Nordlund, 94, Pequot Lake, Minn. died Wednesday, Apr. 23. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at 11:00am at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes, MN with Father Timothy Lange officiating. There will be a visitation at the church beginning one hour prior to the service. There will be a gathering for family and friends on Tuesday April 29, 2025, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the Brenny-Kline Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes.

Betty was preceded in death by husband, Neal Nordlund, parents Frank and Lucille Steinbach and sister Frances Quinn. She is survived by daughters Patricia Cogley and Barbara Faust (Dan); son James Nordlund (Mary), 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Betty enjoyed the Lakes area, spending summers at the family cabin on Trout Lake where she generously opened her cabin to many of her children’s friends. She went on to enjoy lake views at homes on West Twin Lake and Trout Lake. The last 30+ years she lived at Scandia North in Pequot Lakes where she made many good friends and especially enjoyed game night!

Betty's spiritual home was St Alice Catholic Church where she happily participated in the life of the church and the church’s many ministries including the Widow and Widowers Group, the Prayer Group, CCW and closest to her heart, the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. Betty was instrumental in starting the chapel and spent many prayerful hours there. Betty traveled around the world on a Marian Tour to honor the blessed virgin Mary, visiting such places as: Madjugorge, France, Poland, Portugal, China, Russia, and the Holy Land.

Betty will be missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital are appreciated.
