Avis Walker

Avis LaVon Walker, age 88, of Pine River, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Essentia St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd. She was born to Eber and Pearl German on February 11, 1928, in Norwalk, Iowa.
LaVon married Ray Walker on October 16, 1953, and both were graduates of Open Bible Institute. They pastored the Open Bible Church in East Moline, Illinois, for over 50 years.

LaVon is survived by her son, Dwayne (Kim) Walker of Pine River; grandchildren: Shaina Walker, Jared (Tiara) Walker, Jacob (Carrie) Walker; and great grandson, Jamison Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raynold; siblings: Jessie, Marie, Arlene and Lloyd.

Memorial services will be 4 PM on Thursday, February 9, at Riverview Church, Pine River, with Pastor Tristan Borland officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
