Austin A. Greenwaldt, age 29, of Saint Cloud, MN passed away on February 19, 2026. He was born on December 31, 1996 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls, MN to Shelly Greenwaldt and Douglas Erickson. Austin grew up in Randall, MN. Austin found joy in the simple things in life. He loved spending time outdoors, especially going on nature walks. He had a deep appreciation for animals. He enjoyed listening to music, working on cars, and staying active through health and fitness. His dream car was a BMW M3. Austin was a hard worker and took pride in the work that he did.
While attending School, Austin participated in football, wrestling, and cross country. He was known for his strong spirit, kind heart, and protective nature toward those he loved. He had an interest in sports including boxing and recreational shooting. Austin will be remembered as an “old soul” with a big heart and a playful personality. His goofy laugh was contagious, and he had a unique way of making others smile, often with his random jokes and lighthearted nature. He was a good man who brought joy to those around him, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother, Shelly Greenwaldt; his father Douglas Erickson; Sisters, Kelsey Greenwaldt and Cynthia Lindmark; Grandparents, Gerald and Shelba Greenwaldt, and Alice Erickson; Nephews, Laykon, Kaiser, and Koda; Uncles, Daniel Greenwaldt and Michael Greenwaldt; Aunts, Angela Lease, Renay (Dave) Lunzer, Tanya and Ann Erickson; and many cousins. Austin also shared a loving relationship with his girlfriend of seven years, Lacie Taylor.
Austin was preceded in death by Great Grandparents Allie and Martha Wicht, Alfred and Angeline Greenwaldt, Grandfather LaVern Erickson, and his cousin John Allen Greenwaldt Jr.
A visitation followed by a funeral will be held on March 6th, 2026 from 11:00-1:00pm at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples, Minnesota.
