Arlene Justin

Arlene Justin, 93, of Royalton, MN, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, in Royalton.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.

Arlene was born on July 24, 1932, to Earl and Anna (Sauer) Mowan in Buckman, MN. She worked as a Library Aide at Royalton Elementary School for 28 years, where she was known for her warm smile and kind heart toward students and staff alike.

Arlene enjoyed reading, playing cards, and the occasional trip to the casino. She was honored to serve as Co–Grand Marshal of the 2024 Royalton Platte River Days Parade, a celebration of the community she loved so dearly.

She is survived by her children: Kathy Schultz (Brian Schultz) of North Mankato, John (Leeann) Justin of Sartell, Donald Justin of Royalton, Kristine Justin of Royalton, and James (Linda) Justin of St. Stephen; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her sister, Doris Kowitz; sister-in-law, Evelyn Sorenson; and her dear friend of 75 years, Elverna Ebensteiner.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Justin; her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter—Thomas, Heidi, and Jessica Justin; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Barb Mowan; and her brother-in-law, Harvey Kowitz.

In lieu of flowers, Arlene’s family requests memorials be made in her name to CHI Hospice, Autism Speaks, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Sue “Sunshine” Oelrich for her kindness, compassion, and care.
