Arlen Johnson

Arlen Ray Johnson, born September 24, 1945, to Alner and Olive (Gustafson) Johnson in Duluth, MN, passed away on September 6, 2026, at his home in Pequot Lakes, MN.

Arlen’s family was very precious to him and he always took great care of his wife, Virgene. He enjoyed the lake, working with his power tools, and going to Costco. Arlen liked a good deal and always looked for the lowest priced gas. He loved going to Arizona, especially Florence, and never spent another winter in Minnesota after retiring in 2008.

Arlen is survived by his wife, Virgene; children, Brent (Sara Jo), Brian (Carolyn), and Blair (Samantha); grandchildren, Kai, Tessa, Hannah, and Molly; sister, Karen (Jerry) Mayhew; nieces, Renee and Alayne; as well as other relatives and friends. Arlen is preceded in death by his parents.

A service for Arlen will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Crosslake Lutheran Church with a visitation the hour prior. The service will also be livestreamed at crosslakelutheran.com
