Argyle Lee Anderson

November 10, 1941 - January 23, 2026

Argyle Lee Anderson, son of Lavern and Louise (Hillman) Anderson, was born in November 1941 on a farm near Haydenville, MN. He grew up north of Marietta, graduating from high school there in 1960. In 1963 he married Kathlyn Johnson of Ashby, MN. In the early years, he farmed, then they resided in Blaine, MN. After having daughters Colette and Twila, a series of moves brought them back to Marietta where Arg was a grain farmer for many years.

In the early 90s, Arg and Kathy moved to Anchorage, AK where he worked as a prep cook and in the kite shop until he landed the perfect retired farmer job at the Anchorage golf course mowing greens in the summer and as a maintenance shop mechanic during the winter. After moving to Breezy Point in 2008, he worked at the Whitefish Golf course for several years.

During his lifetime he enjoyed tent camping trips in Minnesota with his family, teaching his girls how to do his mowing, flying kites, and seeing moose wandering about Anchorage, sometimes on the golf course or even in their yard. One of his favorite hobbies was collecting toy tractors and making implements and tractor modifications. He was a member of Carpet Farmers of America, a toy farmers group who often set up displays in the malls in Anchorage. He was often busy in his shop creating and building things for use around the house and in the garden. In his later years, he could most often be found putting together a jigsaw puzzle, gladly sitting at the puzzle table by the window for hours.

Argyle was a quiet man who deeply appreciated the gospel and the messengers who shared it, the 23rd Psalm was his favorite scripture, having union meeting and bible studies in the home, fellowship, and the many potlucks where friends gathered together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lavern and Louise Anderson, sister Carnella Breberg, and brother-in-law Maurice Kallhoff.

Argyle is survived by his wife, Kathlyn, daughters Colette (Tim) Huseby, and Twila Anderson. Grandchildren: Jessica Hebdon, Spencer Aydelotte, Todd Aydelotte, Allison (Kody) DeGolier, Brendan Aydelotte, Erik Huseby, Hannah (Tyson) Robinson, and Ashley Huseby. Great-granddaughters Zelda Hebdon, and Nebula DeGolier. Sister, Caroyle (Lee) Foshaug, brother-in-law Paul Breberg, Kathy’s sisters and brothers and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Arg peacefully passed into eternity at dawn Friday, January 23, surrounded by his family at home.

A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice nurse Kendra, aide Carrie, and to cousin Penny Brandon for their support and gentle care in his last days.
