Annette Kay Houg, age 73, passed away on May 19, 2024, at her home in Pine River, MN.

Annette was born on November 5th, 1950, to Robert and Irene Patenaude in Elk River, MN. She would go on to marry her husband, Dennis Houg, on September 28, 1968, in Pine River. She worked for many years at Shopko in St. Cloud, MN, then for Ameriprise Financial doing clerical and IT work for both employers. She was dedicated to volunteering for various organizations, including the Humane Society and Telephone Pioneers in St. Cloud. When Denny and Annette moved back to Pine River in 2016 she became a member of Heritage Group North and began volunteering her time cataloging historical artifacts, researching to do an addition of Logsleds to Snowmobiles (a Pine River History book), and research of area resorts. She played a role in receiving the grants to get past Pine River-Backus High School annuals digitized and was the secretary treasurer for the Pine Ridge Cemetery board. Annette also headed up the Pine River 150th Anniversary and All Class Reunion. She enjoyed doing research on family history, and getting together with family. Her most precious time was spent with her grandchildren.

Annette is survived by her husband, Dennis Houg; children, Carla (Scot) Schreifels, and Chad (Neshaw) Houg; grandchildren, Brady, Kendra, Shawnda, Dylan, and Owen; sisters, Roberta and Sharon.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Irene Patenaude; father in-law, Kenneth Houg; mother in-law, Maxine Houg; brother in-laws, Dennis Schibonski and Roger Houg; and sister in-law Margie Houg.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Riverview Church in Pine River with visitation one hour prior.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Kline Funeral Home in Pine River.
