Annabelle Leek

November 26, 1926 — May 16, 2011

Annabelle Marie (Johnson) Leek, age 84, formerly of Pine River, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011, at Fairview Southdale Hospital, Edina, MN. She left this world peacefully with her children at her side.

Annabelle was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Maple Township, to John and Bessie Johnson. She spent most of her life in the Pine River area. Annabelle married Warren Leek on October 16, 1947 in S. Sioux City, Nebraska. They shared 59 years of marriage. Ann enjoyed artwork, crafts, sewing, especially quilting with the Dorcas Sewing Circle, and gardening.

She is survived by one brother, Melvin Johnson, of Tuscaloosa, AL and brother-in-law, Wayne (Vera) Leek of Pequot Lakes; two sons, John "Jack" (Sharon) Leek of Onamia; Todd (Dan Mesick) Leek of Mpls; one daughter, Sandi of Edina, MN; six grandchildren: Kristin Hauser, Edina, MN; Katrina (Mark, currently serving in Afghanistan) Goehring, Peyton, CO; Karla (Chris) Cunningham, Pine River, MN; Shauna (Alex) Dellascenza, Norwalk, CT; Kraig (Traci) King, Pine River, MN; Kendra King, Pine River, MN: nine great-grandchildren: Avery & Jordan Cunningham; Amelia & Meredith Hauser; Kalli & Konnor King; Victoria Goehring; Lola and Amelie Dellascenza; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Warren.

Memorials may be sent to Dorcas Quilting Circle, c/o First Lutheran Church, PO Box 21, Pine River, MN 56474.

Services will be 2 PM on Saturday, May 21, at First Lutheran Church, Pine River, with Pastor Bonnie Lomen officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Camp Ripley.
