Alice M. Snyder

Alice Snyder, a longtime resident of the Pequot Lakes area, passed away on August 18, 2026, at Hills Crossing Senior Living in Nisswa, Minnesota. She was 93.

Alice Marie Kuhl was born on April 12, 1933, in Davenport, Iowa, to Harvey and Elsie (Hamann) Kuhl. She attended high school in Davenport. Following high school, Alice worked in various clerical positions. Her detail-oriented work habits made her a valued employee.

On February 27, 1955, Alice was united in marriage with Don Snyder in Davenport. They lived in Iowa until 1963. They moved to the Pequot Lakes area and operated Springside Resort for a number of years. They went on to establish other businesses in the area.

Alice was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church from the early 1970’s until her death. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at the church, including making lefse and working at the church bazaar every year. She also served as an election judge for many years.

Alice loved visiting her friend, Marietta, in Florida and watching tennis in California. She enjoyed riding her bike on the Paul Bunyan Trail and stopping at the ice cream store. She was also a gifted seamstress. Most of all, she loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participating in sports and extracurricular activities.

Alice is survived by her children, Sheri, Kay (Steve) and Scott (Wendy), 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Arlene Glunz, Earl Kuhl, John Kuhl and son-in-law, Lt. Leo P. McSherry. Alice’s family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Hills Crossing and Moments Hospice for their loving care of her during her time there.

Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 30985 Front Street, Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. Visitation begins at 10:00 am at the church.
