Agnes Hought, age 101, formerly of Lake Shamineau,, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at Lino Lakes Assisted Living. The funeral service for Agnes will be Thursday, December 8, at 11 AM, at Glen Cary Lutheran Church in Ham Lake. Visitation will be at the church, during the hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, on Friday, December9, at 11:30 AM.

Agnes Pearl Dreon was born March 8, 1915 in Platt County, Missouri, to James and Mary (Blunt) Dreon. She was united in marriage to Leonard Swanson in 1938. The couple lived in Minneapolis until Leonard passed away in 1951. On May 7, 1952 Agnes was married to Elmer Hought, in Minneapolis. Elmer and Agnes moved to Scandia Valley in 1952, where they owned and operated Hought’s Resort on Lake Shamineau for more than twenty years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Motley. Most recently she had lived in Lino Lakes to be near her daughters.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two daughters; five sisters; and a brother. Survived by her daughters, Janice Hunt, of Longmont, CO, Marilyn Weflin, of Greenfield, WI, Joan (Bruce) Wredberg, of Coon Rapids, MN, and Barbara (Loyal) Tanem, of Hibbing, MN; grandchildren, Dottie Drexel, Mike (Marcia), Weflen, John Weflen, Tom Welflen, Jackie Ann Wakeland, Diana (Rick) Billings, Linda (Vito) Lopo, Sue Davis, Jill (Keith) Carlson, David Flategraff, Mark (Catherine) Bowles, Bethany Bowles, Brian (Amy) Wredberg, Jodi (Jason) Kirton, Anna (Jeremy) Barlage, Joel Pfeifer; 28 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
