Pastor Mike Kistner will officiate, and burial will be in the Pleasant Hills Community Cemetery in Pequot Lakes, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel on Friday.
Orren Snavely was born February 4, 1925 at the Brainerd Hospital to Ezra and Alice (Orren) Snavely. He farmed all his life in rural Pequot Lakes on the family farm, raising beef cattle. He was a lifetime member of the Cuyuna Rock, Gem, and Mineral Club. Orren enjoyed finding the perfect gem to add to his collection; whether it be an Agate, Amethyst or anything in between. He was quick to polish and display his collection. Orren loved flowers; he especially enjoyed growing Dahlias and always having beautiful, huge gardens with NO weeds. He also loved his farm cats, writing letters, and his house on the lake in Merrifield. Orren was described as one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, who walked proudly in his faith. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. Orren had the windmill from the family farm brought to Edgewood Senior Living so he could see which direction the wind was blowing. He loved fishing and was always full of smiles.
Orren is survived by nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; and sister, Iris Snavely; sister-in-law; and three brother-in-laws.
