Myron (Mike) Lee Landecker, age 86, of Baxter, MN (originally of Breezy Point) died Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Essentia-St. Joseph’s Medical Center, surrounded by his family, now with his Savior and Lord. Visitation will be 10:00AM, Monday, August 5, 2019 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter. Memorial service to follow at 11:00AM. Lunch to be served after service, private burial later at Pelican Woods Cemetery in Breezy Point.
Mike was born on a farm west of Lakefield, MN to Anthony and Leath (Mittelstad) Landecker. The family moved to a farm in Dawson, MN where he grew up. Mike served in the US Army during the Korean War. After returning home, he met Helen Ann (Hebrink) from Renville, MN, a nurse in Minneapolis, while he was attending Dunwoody to become a land surveyor. They were married on September 19, 1953, and Mike became licensed with the State of Minnesota. Mike began his surveying work at Arleigh Smith in Wayzata and later was employed with Keith Caswell in Osseo, where he became a partner. Later Mike, Helen and their family moved to a lake home in Breezy Point where they started Landecker & Associates Inc., a Land Surveying and Engineering Co. Mike enjoyed church and Bible studies, farm activities, snowmobiling, camping, fishing, hunting, golfing, wood carving, taxidermy, float plane piloting and traveling. He was most happy when he was with his family and friends enjoying life.
Mike is loved and will be missed by Helen Ann, his wife of 65 years; sons, Donald Dean (Connie) of Staples and David Scott (Kim) of Breezy Point; daughters, Mary Beth Wroolie (Bill) of Brainerd and Kristi Ann Kraemer (Joe) of Crosslake; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister Mary Ann McCabe and sister in law, Bev Landecker both of New Hope. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bob, Don and Norm. Memorials may be directed to Lakes Area Interfaith Caregivers.
