After being discharged from the Air Force, Dale enjoyed a fifty year career with Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company (Securian Financial) in Mankato and out of his home office in Crosslake. Dale was active at Crosslake Lutheran Church, having served as congregational president and on several other committees. He was active in the church choir for more than twenty-five years. Dale was also active in several civic organizations, serving on the telephone commission, park and recreational commission, and the road commission. He was also president of the Crosslake/Ideal Lions club and received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He was president of the Life Underwriters Association. During their sixty-one years of marriage, Dale and Helen traveled extensively and in retirement thoroughly enjoyed their peaceful home on the lake shore. They were also both very avid bridge players, and Dale was able to play a great game of bridge only one week before his death.
