Robert (Bob) A. Johnson, 55, Baxter, MN, passed away on May 13, 2017, after a four-month battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, May 22, 2017 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Paul Strommer officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather Sunday afternoon from 2-5 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Monday.

Bob was born September 7, 1961, in Waubun, MN, to Everette “Bud” and Elizabeth (Betty Chilton) Johnson. He married Christle Ackerson June 30, 1990, in Detroit Lakes, MN, and had two sons. He was a fine arts teacher for 32 years, first in Karlstad, MN, and the last 17 years at the Brainerd High School. He loved pottery, fishing, hunting and was a nationally recognized fish decoy carver. He loved spending time with family, former exchange student and family from Switzerland, BHS friends, and his many hunting and fishing buddies. He was an influence in the lives of many students who took his pottery and decoy design classes.

He is survived by his wife Christle; sons Andrew and Dylan, exchange son Selim Kaelin; mother Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson; siblings Frank and Connie Johnson, Paulette and Bob Halvorson, Jean Marie Johnson, Susan and Richard Lunski, Carla Soyring, Everette and Lisa Johnson, Annette and Elliott Christensen, Mary Ingebrigtson and Brad Simon, Lisa and John McArthur, Gail Borgrud. He is preceded in death by grandparents Frank and Lena (Fairbanks) Johnson and Lee and Alvina (LaDoux) Chilton; father Everette Johnson Sr.; and nieces Elizabeth Johnson and Hayle Soyring.
