Lewis Gill

Lewis “Oddie” Gill, 81, of Pine River, passed away May 4, 2017 at Brookside Assisted Living in Pine River. Oddie’s memorial service will be Wednesday, May 10 at 11:00 AM, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services.

Lewis Wilbur Gill was born August 15, 1935 in Omstead County, to Theodore and Pearl (Dushek) Gill. In 1940 his family moved to Cass County. As he grew up, Oddie began farming and working in the woods. He genuinely enjoyed people; he had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help anyone with anything he could. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and looking for bargains at garage sales.

Left to remember Oddie are his brother, Lawrence Gill; his uncle, Paul Dushek; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; and his special friend, Lovette McAninch. Oddie was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Pearl Gill; and his sister, Lorraine Sandoz. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Pequot Lakes.
