Frank Disterhaupt

Frank H. Disterhaupt, 88, of Pillager, MN passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN. Funeral Services for Frank will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00AM at Motley Free Methodist Church in Motley, MN with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN from 5:00-7:00PM and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday, May 5, 2017. Interment will be at Bridgeman Cemetery following a luncheon at the church after services.

Frank was born on December 25, 1928, in Atkinson, NE to Frank and Ida (Braun) Disterhaupt. He was united into marriage to Thelma Wondercheck on October 4, 1950 in Nebraska. Frank and Thelma moved to May Township in Minnesota in 1956, where Frank started raising dairy cattle. He then switched to his life long passion of raising beef cattle, and being a rancher until the time of his death. Frank was a member of the Minnesota Cattleman’s Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Frank’s greatest joy was raising his cattle and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Frank will be sadly missed by his children, Bonnie (John) Ruby of Motley, MN, Steve (Lois) Disterhaupt of Hayden, ID, Doug (Jodi) Disterhaupt of Thief River Falls, MN, Albert (Karen) Disterhaupt of Motley, MN, Carol Webster of Motley, MN, Sally (Dennis) Reger of Farmington, MN, Kathy (Dave) Achermann of Motley, MN, and Joe Disterhaupt of Eden Prairie, MN; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and siblings, Anna Mullen, Doris Terwilliger, Herman Disterhaupt, Maryann McDaniel, Lonnie Disterhaupt, Ed (Delores) Disterhaupt, Clem Disterhaupt, and Alden (Cindy) Disterhaupt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ida; and two brothers, Jay and Ray Disterhaupt. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
