Carol Coulter

Carol J. Coulter, 81, of Baxter, MN died on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Cloud, MN. Services for Carol will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11:00AM at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.

Carol was born on August 23, 1936 in Duluth, MN to Gustav and Hazel (Holmquist) Westlund. She was raised in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from Washburn High School in 1954. She worked as a stewardess with Frontier Airlines for a few years and also worked as a secretary at GE. She married Donald Coulter on August 17, 1962 in Minneapolis, MN. In 1964 they moved to Southwest Minneapolis and then moved to Crosslake, MN in 1968. Carol was the Crosslake Mayor in the early 1980’s. She also ran a fine china repair and restoration business. In 1994 Carol and Don moved to Baxter, MN. Carol enjoyed cooking and was considered a great cook. She also liked sewing and creating ceramic Christmas ornaments. Carol was known as Mama Dos to her family. She will always be remembered as a caring, beautiful, and loving person.

Carol is survived by her husband, Don of Baxter, MN; children, Don (Gela) Coulter of Guanajuato, Mexico, Liz Oliphint of Katy, TX, and Greg (Kelli) Becker of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren, Amy (Josef) Klam, Jason (Nicol) Becker, Jacob Becker, Francisco and Juan Pablo Santos Quiroz; and great-grandchildren, Grace, Madeline, and Josef Klam. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials are preferred to Mid-Minnesota Women’s Center in Brainerd, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
